The Artistic Director of AKRAM DANCE COMPANY started his company with a vision of training young talent all over India.  The company has worked and travelled all over the world with different styles of dance.

​About the director...​​

Akram Shaik started his training in Sadhya under Santosh Nair in year 2005, in Mayurbhanj Chhau & Contemporary Dance.

He has a style of his own in hip hop and breakdance. He has been performing and Choreographing since he very beginning of his dancing career.  A very focused artist, his creativity  gets reflected in his choreographic work.

Akram Shaik has performed in the major productions of Sadhya - Namely Natraj - The Lord of Dance, A Doll's House, The Game of Dice, We can make the Difference - based on global warming & earth care & very recently "Chaitanya".

He  has travelled, performing in Brazil, Port of Spain, Austria,  Russia (Bolsho I Theater, Moscow & St. petersburg, year of India in Russia), Bangkok, Macau, under the aegis of ICCR, Oslo-Norway.

A very diligent artiste, Akram presented his recent choreographic work titled, "Chitrakar"  - a journey into a painter's mind in the "Quarterfest" 201, a festival of contemporary dance initiated by India Habitat Center and grew a very good response for the same.  his talent as an Artist enhanced his work.  He presented the same in the Zorba the Buddha, New dehi.

At the National level he has been a part of various festivals.  A few of them being-National School of Drama - international Festival, Narendra Sharma Dance Festival, Samrachna Choreography Festival of Dance - Bhubneswar,  Chhau Parva - Bhubneswar & Nritya Katha - Kolkatta.

He also performed in 'If I were King' & assisted in the choreography of the famous musical. 'Hair' presented under the aegis of neemrana Music Foundation showcased at Old Fort, Delhi.

​

He has choreographed and taken workshops for various schools like Birla Vidya Niketan, G.D. Goenka, Amity and Bal Bharti.  He also recently judged both interschool as well as intra school competitions for G.D. Goenka and Birla Vidya Niketan.
